چکیده

The geostationary orbit microwave multi-channel radiometer has the advantages of high real-time performance and large coverage, which plays an important role in typhoon, strong precipitation detection, medium-to-short-term meteorological/oceanic forecasting. However, due to difficulty engineering development payload, its application on-orbit not yet been achieved at present. To satisfy requirements fine quantitative satellite observation data, a with 10-m-caliber is developed, spatial resolution horizontal polarization better than 24 km 54 GHz. In radiometer, quasi-optical feed network covering nearly 28 frequency octave bands ranging from 23.8 664 GHz proposed solve technical problem multi-frequency sharing system. Meanwhile, high-precision reflector preparation method unfolding scheme are proposed, considered as solution for large-diameter maintaining surface accuracy. A antenna prototype 0.54-m tests performed verify key technologies, such grating reflectors micron level, accuracy sub-millimeter wave electrical testing. results indicate that measured main beam efficiency 95.5%. addition, system sensitivity greater 1.5 K, calibration 1.8 according analysis radiometer’s essential parameters errors.

Polarimetric Microwave Radiometer Calibration

A polarimetric radiometer is a radiometer with the capability to measure the correlation information between vertically and horizontally polarized electric fields. To better understand and calibrate this type of radiometer, several research efforts have been undertaken. 1) All microwave radiometer measurements of brightness temperature (7B) include an additive noise component. The variance and ...

Microwave Radiometer for Cloud Carthography: A 22channel groundbased microwave radiometer for atmospheric research

A 22-channel Microwave Radiometer for Cloud Carthography (MICCY) for the profiling of tropospheric temperature, humidity, and cloud liquid water has been developed. The radiometer has 10 channels along the high-frequency wing of the 22.235 GHz water vapor line, 10 channels along the low-frequency side of the 60 GHz oxygen complex, and 2 channels at 90 GHz. Two features make the radiometer a uni...

Monitoring and Obssrvation of Fohn Wind in Hong Kong Using a Multi-channel, Ground-based Microwave Radiometer

The performance and application of a multlchannel, ground-based microwave radiometer in the monilori:rg of Fohn wind was studied in an experiment conducted in Hong Kong in 2004. Three scanning modes (zenith, elevation and 15degree elevation) were tried out fo: the radiometer to monitor lhe low-level temperature inversions upwiad of the hills. Thermodynamic profiles retrieved from the zenith mod...

Application of a ground-based, multi-channel microwave radiometer to the alerting of low-level windshear at an airport

Low-level windshear, which refers to sustained changes of headwind of 15 knots (7.7 m/s) or more over a distance of several hundred metres to about 4 km, could be hazardous to the aircraft flying close to the ground. This paper presents the preliminary results in the application of a radiometer in the alerting of lowlevel windshear. A ground-based, 14-channel microwave radiometer (7 oxygen chan...

Ground-Based Microwave Radiometer Measurements

This particular site and time of year was chosen by ARM because it offers a high probability of clearsky, and also a wide range of integrated water vapor amounts. To supplement the routine observing capabilities during the WVIOP2000, a powerful array of tools for measuring water vapor was deployed at the SGP Central Facility area. A comprehensive suite of airborne in situ and ground-based remote
